Tafi-Atome Monkey Sanctuary

The sanctuary is an eco-cultural treasure ideal for nature enthusiasts. The Sanctuary is a sacred grove, where some Mona and Patas monkeys have lived alongside the local community for over 200 years. The sanctuary offers guided forest walks (1-1.5 hrs) to see playful monkeys that often approach visitors. A Cultural Village Tour offers rich opportunities for participants to observe and participate in cooking local cuisine, craft making and local life. Other activities are kente weaving in nearby Tafi Abuipe, evening storytelling or drumming by a bonfire.
