Fort Prinzenstein

Fort Prinzenstein offers a poignant tangible evidence of the Volta Region’s connection to Ghana’s Colonial past and the transatlantic slave trade. It is both a solemn memorial and a powerful historical landmark. Though partly submerged, it remains hauntingly visible, accessible and noteworthy. Visitors to the Fort  can explore the remaining ruins of the Danish fort, tour former slave dungeons and exhibition spaces and learn about the history of the fort as it operated during the transatlantic slave trade. https://gmmb.gov.gh
